Meet the Most Powerful EV in India: Audi e-Tron GT

Audi has finally launched e-Tron GT and RS GT electrical SUVs in the Indian auto market on 15 September 2021. The price started from Rs.1.79 Crores (ex-showroom). However, Audi India might have started the electric car generation a little later than other companies. But surprisingly, Audi is currently boasting its variety of luxury still and non-luxury cars. 

Much like the e-Tron and e-Tron SUV, the Audi e-Tron GT and RS GT are finally available in the country. Though it has promised us various new features, there are many standard features promised by almost all car companies for those interested.

Audi e-Tron GT was first showcased in 2021 February and has been seen as a strong competitor of Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S. But, the tables have turned, and now the Audi e-Tron GT is the most potent EV Audi has ever created. Now, it also came with a new version: the Audi e-Tron RS GT version.

Exterior

In terms of style, the e-Tron GT closely resembles the 2018 Audi e-Tron GT model. The four-door automobile shows a steep sloping roofline, broad shoulder line, wide track, and low cabin. The Audi gets a brand new single-frame grille on the e-Tron GT. 

It has a honeycomb-pattern grille which is painted in the body color with a black surround. Instead of cooling, the grille’s main purpose is to cover various sensors utilized by the car’s assist systems. Audi’s signature LEDs and tail-lights with ‘coming and leaving home’ animations are pretty unique.

Interior

The Audi e-Tron GT gets a 10.1-inch MMI touch screen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit system on the interior. The system supports voice commands and Audi Connect services. AS USUAL, the MMI navigation comes with a Wi-Fi hotspot, providing AI navigation with e-Tron specific functions. It also has an e-Tron route planner for getting the quickest route. Safety instrumentation includes nine airbags,  a 360-degree parking camera, different driver help systems like Lane Departure Warning, and Electronic stability control (ESC)

Engine and Powertrains

• Audi e-Tron GT: The Standard e-Tron GT version has a  front shaft power of 238 hp motor and a 435 hp motor at the rear shaft. Each engine manufactures a combined total of 475hp and 630Nm. This boost mode takes the ability up to 530hp. The highest speed is 245kph, with 0-100kph in just 4.1 seconds.
• Audi RS e-Tron GT: Compared to the standard version and a very powerful rear motor, the whole system output rises to 598hp and 830 Nm of Torque. In boost mode, power increases to 646hp. The RS e-Tron GT is capable of a 0-100kphat in just 3.3 seconds and a high speed of 250kph.

It uses a 2-speed transmission for the rear motor. It has a short ratio for acceleration and a long ratio for high-speed performance and larger potency. The battery present is 93kWh, from which Audi claims a spread of up to 500km for the quality e-Tron GT and 481km for the RS e-Tron GT as per the WLTP cycle.

Both of the Audi models are capable of AC charging up to 20 kW that takes the battery from 5 percent to 8 percent in nine hours and thirty minutes. The DC quick charging up to 270kW takes the battery from five percent to eight percent in 22 hours and thirty minutes.

The main highlights are the looks. The Audi e-Tron GT gets a shiny exterior look that gives the car a royal look. A unique grille, alloy style, and glossy LEDs are perfect for the most stylish car. Thee-Tron GT has 20-inch alloy wheels, and the RS version has 21-inch wheels.

Cabins
