MG Hector Plus 2020 has been finally launched at Rs 13.49 lakh

MG Motors India today launched the 6-seater variant of its popular SUV Hector in India. The MG Hector Plus will be offered in four variants and would be retailed at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs. 13,48,800. The 7-seater version could also be on the cards in coming months.

The brand currently has MG Hector SUV and MG eZS EV on offer in India. With launch of Hector Plus, the brands portfolio increases to three vehicles. The Chinese owned British car maker is also mulling to launch a premium SUV Gloster in India during the coming months.

Coming to the MG Hector Plus, the SUV is based on the 5-seater MG Hector but receives 3-row seating with captain seats on the seond row and bench seats on the third row. The Hector Plus is slightly longer than the MG Hector due to its redesigned bumpers, the car receives subtle changes which includes redesigned front & rear fascia and a new quarter panel.

All-new Hector Plus is offered in two engine choices, these include- a 2.0-litre diesel mill capable of beting 168 BHP of power and 350 Nm of torque, the engine is mated with a 6-speed manual transmission. The car is also offered in a 1.5-litre, turbo-petrol burner that is capable of churning 141 BHP of power and 250 Nm of torque. The petrol mill comes mated to 6-speed DCT gearbox. In addition to this, MG is also offering 48V mild hybrid variant system on the petrol mill that comes with a 6-speed MT gearbox.

The car is feature rich and is packed with technology such as panoramic sunroof, 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected features, ambient lighting, heated ORVMs, powered front seats, etc. It also comes with safety features such as ABS, EBD, BA, traction control, ESC, hill-hold assist, TPMS, 6-airbags, etc.

The Hector Plus is about Rs, 60,000-80,000 pricier than the Hector and will lock horns with Mahindra XUV500, Toyota Innova Crysta, and the likes.
